Dr. Wendy Simpson

Dr. Simpson is the proud owner and primary veterinarian of the new Morrisville Cat Hospital! Following her life long dream of becoming a veterinarian, she received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech. In 1995, Dr. Wendy graduated from North Carolina State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 1996, she completed an internship at Auburn University in small animal medicine and surgery. After moving back to Cary and practicing in a general small animal practice, Dr. Wendy took a position at a new all feline practice in Durham. After four successful years there, she decided to start her own feline practice closer to her home in Cary. Dr. Wendy is firmly committed to providing exceptional client service and compassionate care.

On a personal note, Dr. Wendy is married to Dr. Mathew Gerard who is a surgeon of large animals at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. They have three wonderful cats: Ollie, who is 3 years old and always into something; Gertie, who is 10 years old and loves to be in your lap; and Tess, who is 12 and a little prissy but definitely her mom’s cat!! In her spare time, Dr. Wendy enjoys Pilates, golf, water skiing, and visiting Australia (her husband’s homeland).
